If you are interested in social determinants of health, social prescribing, public health, community outreach, health inequalities or social medicine then DUSMS is likely for you! 💚
This society aims: To organise events covering topics related to: social prescribing, social determinants of health, holistic medicine, and public health To provide teaching with the intent of improving awareness of, and confidence in using, social prescribing amongst healthcare students To enable healthcare students to engage with their local community via outreach projects with the aim of improving health and wellbeing of disadvantage groups in the local community To support other local initiatives to tackle barriers to healthcare for marginalised groups To improve the link between the healthcare profession and local third sector and community organisations To aid in reducing bias or stigma amongst medical students about the experiences of members
