We are the Peer Mentors society, a student lead society who aim to give support to all students, at various points throughout their time within the medical school. We run various support events for all years – ranging from ‘Study Skills’ to ‘Mind the Bleep to help prepare Y5 students for their transition into FY1. One of the main support systems which Peer Mentors organise is the Y1 mentor scheme. Within this, two to three Y2 students act as ‘mentors’ to each small group within the Y1 year group. The mentors will meet with their groups 3-4 times a year, along with being available for queries via email.
